Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Maharashtra today, Friday, August 30, to participate in several important events. His visit includes laying the foundation stone for the Vadhvan Port project and other developments in Palghar, and addressing the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) in Mumbai.

- Global Fintech Fest (GFF):
- Around 11 AM, PM Modi will speak at the Global Fintech Fest at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. This event is organized by the Payments Council of India, National Payments Corporation of India, and the Fintech Convergence Council.
- The GFF will feature over 800 speakers, including policymakers, bankers, and industry leaders, discussing the latest fintech innovations. More than 350 sessions will be held, and over 20 reports and white papers will be released.
- Vadhvan Port Project:
- Around 1:30 PM, PM Modi will be in Palghar to lay the foundation stone for the Vadhvan Port project, which is valued at ₹76,000 crores. This port, located near Dahanu in Palghar district, will be one of India’s largest deepwater ports, boosting maritime connectivity and trade. The project aims to provide direct international shipping routes, reduce costs, and create job opportunities.
- Fisheries Projects:
- PM Modi will also launch 218 fisheries projects worth around ₹1,560 crores to improve infrastructure and productivity in the sector. These projects are expected to create over five lakh jobs. They include developing fishing harbors, Integrated Aquaparks, and adopting advanced technologies.
- Additionally, the National Rollout of the Vessel Communication and Support System will be launched, costing around ₹360 crores. This system, developed by ISRO, will enhance communication and safety for fishermen at sea.
PM Modi expressed his enthusiasm for this visit, highlighting the importance of the Global Fintech Fest and the Vadhvan Port project in advancing Maharashtra’s development and India’s role in global trade.
